2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Safety Features
The Innovative and High-Performance Silverado EV
Drivers looking for an innovative, high-performance electric pickup truck will soon be able to purchase a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV. With an impressive all-electric powertrain and a suite of safety features, the Silverado EV will meet the needs of drivers who want a utilitarian and eco-friendly vehicle.
At Spitzer Chevrolet North Canton, we are excited about the arrival of the 2022 Silverado EV and what the reimagined pickup will do for the full-size pickup truck class.
Loaded with Safety Features
Chevrolet has yet to announce the full list of standard and available safety and driver-assistive features. However, the automaker has said that the Chevy Silverado safety features will include Lane Keep Assist, Automatic High-Beam Headlights, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Automatic Rear Cross-Traffic Braking, and a Following Distance Indicator with Collision Warning.
Chevrolet has announced that shoppers will be able to add a high-definition Surround-View Camera System. As the current Silverado models have Super Cruise, experts predict that the newest version of Super Cruise, a partially automated hands-free technology will be available on the 2024 Silverado EV.
High-tech features in the First Edition RST Chevy Silverado interior include a 17-inch infotainment display, a 14-inch head-up display, and an 11-inch digital instrument panel. The EV Work Truck will have slightly smaller screens than the better-equipped First Edition RST trim.
Impressive Performance in the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV
The Silverado uses the powerful Ultium Platform – GM’s foundational zero-emissions EV platform. Chevrolet will put two electric motors in the Silverado EV, with one on each axle. With the Ultium Platform, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will get 400 miles of range after a full charge. Using a Level-3 DC Fast-Charging Station, the Silverado EV can get 100 miles of range in about 10 minutes.
This performance-based platform delivers up to 664 horsepower with more than 780 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-to-60 time of about 4.5 seconds when outfitted with a feature called Wide Open Watts. The standard horsepower on the WT will be 510, while the torque is 615 lb-ft. With that much horsepower and torque, the EV pickup is expected to tow up to 10,000 pounds when outfitted with towing equipment.
The first models offered to the public will include the WT and the RST. Eventually, Chevrolet plans to release fleet pickup trucks with up to 20,000 pounds of max trailering.
